“Canada is an important and growing market for us”

SIAL Canada Daily spoke with Mindaugas Janaščius, Area Manager – USA, Canada for Vičiūnai Group, about the importance of the Canadian market and the group’s goals for their first time exhibiting at the show.

Can you briefly describe Vičiūnai Group?
Vičiūnai Group is one of the largest producers of surimi, fish products and Gyoza dumplings in Europe, with a presence in over 60 countries worldwide. We are known for our “Viči” brand, which stands for quality, innovation, and sustainability. Our group encompasses production, logistics and sales operations, allowing us to offer tailored solutions to a wide variety of clients, from retail chains to HoReCa sectors.

How important is the Canadian market for Vičiūnai Group?
Canada is an important and growing market for us. Canadian consumers are increasingly looking for healthy, convenient and sustainably sourced seafood options—values that align perfectly with what we offer. We see great potential to grow our presence here, both in retail and foodservice.

What are your goals for the show this year?
This year, our main goals are to strengthen our relationships with existing clients, establish new partnerships and introduce our latest product innovations – “Viči” Gyozas with various fillings, high-protein surimi products and premium salmon offerings that reflect our commitment to quality, taste, and convenience. We’re also focused on gathering feedback and insights from the market to continuously improve and adapt our offerings.

What can visitors look forward to on your stand?
Visitors to our stand can expect to see a wide range of our latest seafood innovations, including ready-to-eat surimi snacks, salmon and our Gyoza dumplings.  Our team is on hand to provide tastings, answer questions and discuss partnership opportunities.
