Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is a farmer-funded and farmer-run organization that represents the interests of the hard-working men and women on more than 9,000 Canadian dairy farms.

Indirectly, the organization also stands with the over 270,000 extended members of the dairy farmer community and workforce from coast to coast, contributing $28 billion to Canada’s GDP and generating $9 billion in tax revenue annually.  

One of DFC’s key goals is to champion 100% Canadian dairy products and the exceptional standards behind them—from milk quality and food safety to animal care and sustainability, Canadian dairy farmers are committed to adhering to some of the highest standards in the world. The Blue Cow Quality Milk Logo is DFC’s certification logo, representing these standards while making it easy for Canadian consumers to identify products made with 100% Canadian milk and dairy ingredients. The Blue Cow Quality Milk Logo currently appears on roughly 9,000 products from over 550 brands.

DFC’s stand at SIAL Canada serves as a showcase of Canadian dairy products from coast to coast, from milk to cheese and everything in between. Visitors to the show can discover over 100 products from more than 30 manufacturers, each crafted with care using 100% Canadian milk, with the addition of a selection of multicultural products this year. Other Canadian processors and brands throughout SIAL Canada’s show floor are also featuring their products made with 100% Canadian milk, many of them with DFC’s Blue Cow Quality Milk Logo.

Today at the International Cheese Competition awards ceremony, the Best Canadian Cow’s Milk Cheese is being presented by the DFC.
